Pete Schrum -- Hubba-Hubba
Deborah Walley -- Lahwhinie [Everyone spells it differently, though, it seems...]
Notes:
Was Debbie Walley called in JUST to do this parody and then asked to
stay on for a few extra roles? She certainly does a fine job (her
series best) as Lahwhinie, sort of an evil twin of Gadget (spoiled, haughty,
ruthless, has taken advantage of believing mice with volcano scam).
Good/evil double business a familiar idea but still nice.
"Toodles" = Gidget's favorite parting phrase from when Walley played
Gidget in "Gidget Goes Hawaiian" (1961).
Again, "small society" emphasized -- Hawaiian mice parody lifestyle
of humans, obstacle test uses humans' lobster tank & barbecue pit.
Theme of "Gadget can't decide" about as "in character" for this absentminded
inventor as one can get. Her most heroic role including "Cola Cult"
(which contained some elements of parody -- here G is "herself" rather
than Ramboette).
Shaka-Baka: Paulsen "surfer dude" voice seen on "Wake, Rattle &
Roll" (robot).
Skirts close to edge in suggestiveness: C&D are obviously sexually
aroused by Leuani (Chip floats UP into the air after she kisses him!!).
Monty is only one not affected by her.
|| "Cola Cult" in phoniness of "religious rite" -- but mice apparently
will continue it afterwards. No sense that phoniness will cause change.
["Leuani" is one of many spellings thrown out in a desperate attempt
to figure out what the heck is the proper spelling. Last I heard, the "official"
spelling was "Lahwhiney", not that the spelling police could ever hope
to get a conviction out of anyone who used a variant. -- MP]
[Just to settle things on that note: The
official spelling of the name is "Lahwhinie". This is confirmed by material from an official presskit that I saw online. - Winston]
